Brno is a statutory city and the second largest city in the Czech Republic, with approximately 400,000 inhabitants, administered by the Brno City Council with headquarters on Dominican Square. Brno is a center of judicial authority, housing numerous state institutions and hosting international trade fairs. Six universities and 65,000 students make it a significant hub for higher education, science, research, and innovation. The city is also home to Villa Tugendhat, a functionalist villa inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
